The Jeep Grand Cherokee is one of the pioneers that ushered in the modern midsize SUV in the early 1990s. Jeep has always wanted the Grand Cherokee to be maneuverable enough for urban duty, roomy enough for family duty, stylish enough to take out on the town and capable enough to tow your toys or shuttle your passengers to a remote campsite. Modern Grand Cherokees are far more refined than the early models, but they're no less versatile.
Unlike most other traditional SUVs, the Jeep Grand Cherokee has always been built using a carlike unibody platform for superior on-road handling. Yet Jeep's strong reputation for off-road prowess is retained, thanks to the Grand Cherokee's advanced four-wheel-drive systems and capable suspension. It's a rare combination of attributes in a modern utility vehicle, as the Jeep is able to venture farther off the beaten path than competing crossover SUVs.

This Is Jeeps Finest Hour! - 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By tucsonguy2 - October 20 - 2:28 pmI have owned this Overland V8 Hemi for nearly 2 months now, and I am still just as impressed as the day I bought it. This is a quiet, strong, well-behaved, high-quality vehicle that is loaded with amenities like heated and cooled seats, power liftgate, adaptive cruise control, blind spot warning, and much more. The interior is very nice, and this vehicle can hold its own against any of the higher-priced luxury brand SUVs from Germany and Japan. I have owned a number of Grand Cherokees in the past, but this one is clearly a cut above past models... perhaps they should have called it the Grand Slam, because thats what they have hit! This is one beautiful vechicle that I am proud to own.

By Jim - October 17 - 3:13 amWe bought the Grand Cherokee Limited Diesel! Second choice over 09 Murano. WOW the moment I test drove it, I loved it! It drives, handles like a luxury sedan! 4WD makes corning a breeze! No leaning/siding like most other SUVs. I feel safe,secure! I noticed people admiring the body style from other mid size SUV owners! Lotsa of interior room. 59", large frame,feel very comfortable, wide spaces to stretch! I feel no vibrations, gas mileage terrific with average fwy/street driving at about 22.8 to 23.1 per gallon with diesel. Its heaven!

I prefer the motor not stop at every traffic light. so I have to push a defeat button every time I go out in the car. I can see where start/stop tech. will cause the battery to drain down especially at night with the headlights on and the air running etc. In florida especially with the temps high in the summer this is going to lead to problems. I think that this feature is on most new cars, my sister was complaining about it on her new Jaguar also. I think it is a bad idea unless you have an electric car. I am going to find out if this feature can be permanently defeated.

Excellent vehicle after more than 3 year - 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By Stu Cozza - October 12 - 10:36 amI traded a 2002 Overland for this 2005 Limited; my wife traded her 2001 Laredo for a 2005 GC Limited as well. Got a great deal and been happy with both of them (hers was a demo and is more fully loaded than mine). Granted, there have been a few minor glitches, but the dealer has been fantastic in getting things fixed correctly the first time. Mostly small stuff (ignition switch, steering angle sensor, various TSBs) and never anything that would leave us stranded.

Love My Limited - 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By Sergio - October 7 - 2:00 amI bought my 2011 Grand Cherokee Limited a few weeks ago. The dealer experience was great! They did not have the color i wanted but had it transferred from another dealer that day. I have to say i had never thought of a Jeep before but when i saw the new design and then test drove it. I was sold! It is much bigger than previous models, but i love the ride, the handling and the look of the overall cabin. I have always driven luxury cars and have to say that it compares in quality and comfort to those of BMW, Lexus and Audis.

96 Jeep Grand Cherokee - 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By Downwind II - October 4 - 2:23 pmBought a used 96 JGC from a Tucson Chevy dealer in 99. 22000 miles. Fully optioned. Perfect except all inner door panels were warped from the heat. I had seen this problem on two other used GCs. Dealer replaced them and no recurrence of this problem. Bought warranty for $1500,used up the entire value on repairs, including the rebuilding of the rear diff and CV joints. Used primarily for long distance driving. Tow a 5300lb boat with equalizer hitch. Tows well, goes up hills slowly. Now has 105000 miles, never a breakdown. If not driven, battery drains down in 10 days, no obvious cause. Tows well behind my RV. 14-18 mpg. Tire takes up cargo space. Its comfortable and I like it.

Great Used Vehicle - 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By Joshy007 - October 4 - 12:46 amI bought my 1999 JGC from a friend (third owner in all). Just clocked 161,000 miles. Outside of maintenance items (battery, brakes, tires, shocks, fluid changes, a/c charge) the car has needed to have the steering linkage and front axles replaced for a total of $450. As for fuel economy I am not sure how others are driving but driving like a mad man I am around 17.5-18.5 mpg and reasonable driving I am getting 20-21 mpg. The drivetrain is still strong and all the little things seem to be holding up. Alloy wheels clear coat is faded & flaking. The starter is beginning to struggle a bit so that may be the next thing to get fixed. All together for about a $4,500 investment a great find
